The critics’ choice

LaMar’s donuts have been described as the ultimate indulgence, purely heaven, tender and airy, sinfully good, fit for kings. And that’s just what some of the nation’s premier restaurant critics have to say. Poll customers and you’ll hear things like large, plump and golden, pleasingly sweet on the somewhat crisp outside, then tender, moist and warm inside with enough of a buttery flavor to make your mouth water in anticipation of the next bite. Need we say more?

Our delicious reputation

Our reputation has been built on the highly publicized fact that we have simply a better donut. Better than anyone’s. Forgive us if this sounds like bragging, but it’s simply the truth. The restaurant critics of Denver, Colorado’s daily newspaper the “Rocky Mountain News” decided that they wouldn’t just take our word for it. They put us to the test – against Krispy Kreme, against Dunkin’ Donuts, against Winchell’s, against eight local mile-high favorites. The next day’s paper featured a blazing headline: “It’s LaMar’s in a Glaze of Glory.” We won, hands-down, no contest.

The “Rocky Mountain News” described the LaMar’s glazed donut in this way: “Bite into a barely fried LaMar’s glazed raised and the light-golden exterior collapses into a creamy pleasure. Just enough chewing is involved to make this a superior doughnut. Fully coated in shiny glaze that sticks to your fingers and flakes onto your shirt, it tastes good, not just sweet, and has no oily aftertaste.”

These incredible, amazing donuts are the result of years of perfecting an art. An art of making donuts so wonderful that critics search for just the right adjective to do the donut justice. But, like the skeptical critic in Denver, don’t take our word for it. Try one. Just one. That’s all it takes. You’ll be hooked.
